SLOWBURNER are a 4-piece live blues band from the Midlands of England who play R&B the way that Brits are not supposed to be able to. Calling upon a deep love and understanding of traditional blues fused with an unparalleled level of performance experience, the band have built a reputation as one of the UK's very best live acts.
They have produced a string of critically acclaimed recordings which are available for purchase via this site.

The band comprise the following members :

Paul Bridgwater -
Paul
Vocalist and founder member. A quote from ROBERT PLANT reads : 'Great singer who continues the tradition of British blues soul singers'.
Paul previously released two albums with Radio Moscow subsequently following up with tours and television appearances in Europe. Paul also sang with the German based Alex Parche project releasing two albums in Europe and Japan.

Rob Newell -
Rob on Bass
Bass Guitar. Rob can count Jim Capaldi, Jess Roden and the legendary Gene Vincent amongst his former band mates. Previously signed to DJM, Rob also played in The Indigo Set and supported such huge names as Cream, The Yardbirds and The Small Faces.

Mike Bannister -
Mike on guitar
Guitar. Mike enjoys one of the most enviable yet challenging positions in modern blues as Slowburners guitar player. Managed in his early career by British R&B legend Jimmy Powell, Mike has since gone on to share the bill with Peter Green and Mick Taylor. He has also worked with numerous other great artists including Ian Gillan.

Colin Edmonds -
Colin on Drums
Drums. Colin is a seasoned R&B drummer who has worked with such diverse acts as Ruby Turner and The Redbeards. Colin has also performed with Jaki Graham, Dee Harris (Fashion) and Ricky Cool with whom he played in televised sets.

With a line up this experienced it is no wonder that SLOWBURNERS live reputation is second to none. The list of acts that has shared a bill reads like a who's who of British Rock and Blues. Traditional blues stars such as STAN WEBB and PETER GREEN; incredible live acts including HUMBLE PIE, TEN YEARS AFTER, MICK TAYLOR, DANA GILLESPIE, Dr FEELGOOD, NINE BELOW ZERO, SNOWY WHITE, BUDGIE, IAN GILLAN, MAGGIE BELL, MAGNUM, BERNIE MARSDEN & MICKY MOODY, PAT TRAVERS etc.

As well as headlining at over 1000 of their own live shows, SLOWBURNER have also undertaken full National Tours with major Label acts such as WISHBONE ASH and THUNDER. They have also appeared on local, national and continental radio on numerous occasions.
ROBERT PLANT has been so impressed that he has taken to the stage with the band on no less than 3 separate occasions.
With more than two decades of live experience behind them SLOWBURNER are regulars at many of the UK's most prestigious venues. They have appeared at the world famous Marqueee Club in London.
The band are also favorites at the country's leading Blues festivals including the GLOUCESTER BLUES FESTIVAL, MARYPORT BLUES, FARNHAM MALTINGS BLUES, BURNLEY BLUES, UPTON-ON-SEVERN BLUES FESTIVAL, BISHOPSTOCK to name but a few.

SLOWBURNER have also proved equal to the task of producing recorded material that equals their stage performances. Following the release of 'AN EMOTIONAL BUSINESS' in 1989 SLOWBURNER have consistantly issued outstanding music. The most recent release being 'ONE TRICK PONY' on Lahdeedah Records.
